Golf Course
SSDM was engaged to provide the Te Arai Golf Course Development with technical agronomy and consultancy services. This exciting new Tom Doak development has been established just North of Auckland. The course has been seeded in wall-to-wall Fescue on a mix of former commercial pine forest and established sand dune.
Within SSDM we have specialist knowledge of the best practices involved in the germination, establishment and on-going management of cool season turf grass species (such as Fescue). SSDM has been involved in supporting the construction and grow-in phases of the development through the provision of regular site visits, technical advise and on-going analysis.
These services have included:
- Soil nutrient analysis and interpretation
- Tissue analysis
- Soil microbial analysis of greens, with recommendations (in association with Soil Foodweb Institute New Zealand)
- The provision of a 12-month preventative fungicide plan for the entire site
- Turfgrass disease analysis and diagnosis
- IPM stratgeies
This stunning golf course is an on-going development and SSDM is excited to be involved in the project, and at the forefront of such a groundbreaking project in New Zealand.
