As part of our commitment to sustainability, Green by Nature has planted over 12,000 trees at Essendon Fields with a goal of reaching 15,000 trees as soon as possible.

“Planting trees is one of the best ways to reduce our carbon footprint and improve air quality.” said Dean Jamieson, General Manager Operations at Green by Nature.

In addition to planting trees, we are also working to increase Essendon Fields’ rainwater storage capacity to 1.5 million litres. This will help to reduce the precinct’s reliance on municipal water sources.

We harvest rainwater from the roofs of aircraft hangars to irrigate the onsite tree farm, making it completely self-sufficient.

“We are proud of our partnership with Green by Nature,” said Ashley Young, Facilities Manager at Essendon Fields. “They are a valuable partner in our efforts to create a sustainable and environmentally friendly precinct.”

Knowing that we’re making a real difference for our community is enough to make us stand a little taller ourselves!
